WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today launched its latest ad to bring awareness to the dangers of driving while distracted.

According to NHTSA data, approximately 861 people are injured each day in America in distracted-driving-related crashes, including the use of cellphones. Drivers aged 15 to 20 represent the largest percentage of fatalities caused by distracted driving. Parents are encouraged to educate their teens about road safety.

USDOT's "Put the Phone Away or Pay" campaign will debut across television, radio and digital platforms. Ads and other campaign materials are available here for download.
