DRIVING THE NEWS: Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry Meet with Pennsylvanian Truckers
Mechanicsburg, PA – U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator Derek D. Barrs, and Congressman Scott Perry (PA-10) met with local trucking and construction stakeholders today in Cumberland County. The trio discussed a range of issues the Trump Administration is helping the industry tackle including extending hours of service, improving safety measures for highway construction sites, and taking bad actors out of the trucking industry.
In November 2025, FMCSA found Pennsylvania violated existing federal safety regulations by issuing non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) illegally – including to ineligible foreigners without verifying their legal status. The Department continues to work with Pennsylvania to reach full compliance with federal regulations.
“This President cares about the livelihoods of Pennsylvanians working hard to keep our East Coast economy moving. Pennsylvania is fortunate to have a representative like Scott Perry advocating on their behalf back in Washington. At USDOT, we’re working to deliver massive infrastructure projects that improve lives and create jobs across the Keystone State,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.
“It was great to have Secretary Duffy join me here in Pennsylvania’s 10th District to hear from our state’s incredible workforce, including our trucking and construction partners. Together, we are helping address issues that impact safety and affordability for Pennsylvanians,” said U.S. Congressman Scott Perry (PA-10).
