TSB-2015-07 Increased Garage Traffic – Limiting Daily Permits
PARKING PROGRAM BULLETIN
BULLETIN #: TSB-2015-07
DATE: March 23, 2015
SUBJECT: Increased Garage Traffic – Limiting Daily Permits
PURPOSE: This Bulletin provides guidance on the Department of Transportation (DOT) Headquarters parking garage.
Information: There has been a significant increase in the number of monthly parking permits being purchased for the parking garage. As a result of the increased volume, daily parking permits are being limited and will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. Parkers without monthly permits may be turned away; therefore, we recommend you do not use Pay.Gov to pre-pay daily parking permits at this time.
When necessary, the attendants will stack vehicles on the P-2 level. Customers should follow the instructions of the parking attendants when parking their vehicles in a stacked configuration. Stacked Parking is when a vehicle is parked in the drive aisle, see attached document.
Parkers are encouraged to exit the garage at the elevator closest to your vehicle and use the interior building passage routes to make your way to your office.
Arrival Tips:
- DOT Message board will indicate if the garage is no longer accepting daily parkers (start date TBD).
- Monday – Thursday: Cut off for daily permits can start as early as 9:30 a.m.
- Friday: Daily permits are usually not limited due to a decrease in garage traffic
EXPIRATION DATE: This Bulletin will remain in effect until canceled.
CONTACT: If you have additional questions please contact your modal POC or parking.transitoffice@dot.gov.
