Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) would like to highlight Sybis, LLC. (Sybis).

Sybis is an Asian-Pacific American small business owned by Jeremy, Jonathan, and Suzanna Djajadi in Kirkland, WA. Sybis, a Washington State certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and federally certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) was founded on August 23, 2012. The firm is an access control provider and integrator specializing in smart electronic locks and keys. Sybis has performed work in the states of Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and even in the capital city of Indonesia (Jakarta).

In an effort to continue growing, Sybis utilizes the USDOT, OSDBU’s Northwest Region Small Business Transportation Resources Center (SBTRC). Since 2014, the Northwest Region SBTRC has assisted Sybis with surety bonding, marketing, and procurement assistance. Resulting from the assistance provided by the Northwest Region SBTRC, Sybis was awarded a three (3) year $4,500,000 contract with Washington State’s Department of Enterprise Services. Sybis was also awarded approximately $300,000 worth of contracts with other state and local agencies in Washington State.

OSDBU’s Northwest Region SBTRC goes above and beyond to help small businesses thrive in our community. I am thankful to have met the Northwest Region SBTRC in 2014, and had the privilege to collaborate with the SBTRC for assistance in winning a statewide contract with Washington State’s Department of Enterprise Services. On top of that, the Northwest Region SBTRC assisted my company with connections to other public, private, and transportation agencies, such as Washington State Department of Transportation, City of Medina, WA, City of Lynnwood, WA, Community Transit, Snohomish County Public Works, Sound Transit, Kiewit Construction, and Walsh Construction just to name a few.” -  Jonathan Djajadi, Co-Owner of Sybis, LLC.

The Economic Alliance of Snohomish County – Center for Business Employment Development serves as OSDBU’s Northwest Region SBTRC. OSDBU’s Northwest Region SBTRC administers USDOT small business assistance programs throughout the states of Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon.
