Mariia Zimmerman

Mariia Zimmerman serves as the Principal Assistant Secretary for Policy at the US Department of Transportation (USDOT). Prior to this she served as the Department’s Senior Advisor for Technical Assistance and Community Solutions. Before joining the Administration, Mariia was Founder and Principal of MZ Strategies, LLC; and held previous positions at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, on Capitol Hill, and with national non-profit organizations in addition to serving as visiting faculty with Virginia Tech, and an appointed Board Member of the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority and on the Shared Use Mobility Board in addition to serving in leadership positions with the American Planning Association, the American Public Transportation Association, and Women’s Transportation Seminar.
