SS4A Community of Practice

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has established a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) community of practice (CoP) for SS4A grant recipients (i.e., political subdivisions of a State or territory, federally recognized Tribal governments, and metropolitan planning organizations).

The CoP is a part of FHWA’s SS4A Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and will serve as an opportunity for SS4A grant recipients to share noteworthy practices, resources, and solutions to advance roadway safety at the regional, local, and Tribal levels.

FAQs about the CoP are available on the SS4A Grant Recipient FAQs webpage.

Community of Practice Webinars

On November 19, 2023, FHWA hosted a webinar to kick-off the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Community of Practice. During the webinar, FHWA discussed the benefits of SS4A grant recipient participation in the CoP and opportunities for grant recipients to get involved, as well as the importance of community engagement for SS4A projects.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, FHWA hosted a Community of Practice webinar to discuss the 2 CFR 200 requirements that regulate how grant recipients procure goods and services for their respective projects. The regulations can be found at 2 CFR 200 Subpart D, § 200.317 - § 200.327. The link and passcode for the meeting recording are below.
