NHTSA Electronic Data Transfer Pilot

At the November 18, 2014, DOT|TRCC meeting, NHTSA presented on its electronic data transfer (EDT) project. It is NHTSA's hope that creating direct links between State crash databases and a new NHTSA database will improve data quality and reduce the cost of moving crash data between the State and the agency. The three State pilot program is currently underway and the agency hopes to expand to other States in the future.
